Create Change

1656833608912.jpg

Through collaborations with local, women-owned businesses, we have created a collective of individuals who are forming a network of support for teen girls in the Bay Area.

This collective of artists, educators, therapists, coaches, bakers, innovators and in-general magic makers will open doors of communication to teach life skills from business building to navigating societal pressures.

The Artemis Collective meets twice each month. Once with a core group of mentors and a second time for a unique seminar.

Each core mentor meeting will focus on building specific skills to help build confidence and a stronger sense of self.

Monthly seminars, however, kick Artemis up a notch as teen protégés learn from local trailblazing women who have started companies, received advanced degrees, or are coming to share stories of passion projects and their impacts. These women join us from throughout the Bay Area and come from vastly different fields.

The Artemis Collective believes that gender is not binary. We provide leadership opportunities for all high school teens who are not cisgender boys (assigned male at birth and identify as male).

I'm Kathryn, a student at the National Midwifery Institute. I've been a doula since 2013 and am privileged to now support families as a midwife apprentice.  I birthed two of my babies at home with a midwife, and one was born by cesarean at Alta Bates. I live in Oakley with my partner, kids, three cats, and a growing collection of plants. My passion is helping parents find joy and ease in the major transitions that are birth and parenting. I’m a book nerd and science enthusiast. In school, I excelled in biology and chemistry and love applying that knowledge to the world of herbs and traditional medicine.  Fun Fact: I have an associate's degree in Automotive Technology. I fixed cars until I was 8 months pregnant with my first child. I planned on owning an auto repair shop someday. Becoming a parent sure is transformative!

Kathryn's Seminar is coming Fall 2023!

I AM Tara and I lead women's circles that offer the medicine needed to move from the dark into the light. I've experienced the medicine in these circles and I want to share it and celebrate it with you!

Since I was a young girl I've worked and practiced being hard, full of boundaries, and chasing perfection. During the last four years, I have journeyed through heartbreak and darkness and I have been utilizing women's circles, yoga, therapy, and expressive art as the medicine that has helped nurture me back to who I AM!

I have learned that standing in my power and connecting back to my heart, mind, body, and intuition allows me to show up grounded. My dark wounds lead me fiercely into the light.

Tara's Seminar will be held Fall 2023!
